As a Civil Engineer at McGiffert and Associates, LLC, you will work on all aspects of civil projects including both public and private jobs and associated grading, drainage, site layout, utility, erosion control and other critical aspects of engineering design. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and understanding of civil engineering, and has the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, including roads, utilities, and water resources.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates and bid schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and compliance with design specifications.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to perform calculations and simulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering preferred (internships included).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering design software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT certification preferred but with intentions to acquire at a minimum.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques used in the construction and building trades fields.
