Electrical Engineer II - Grid Operations & Planning Research

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support the Grid Visualization and Analytics Center (SGVAC) within our client’s Research & Development organization. This role focuses on Grid Operations and Planning Research, contributing to the evaluation and deployment of emerging technologies that enhance power system operations, modeling, analytics, and visualization. The engineer will have opportunities to lead individual research efforts and technology assessments over time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute research plans to evaluate emerging grid technologies.
- Support and lead projects related to grid operations and planning tools.
- Perform power system analysis, modeling, and simulation, including digital twin applications.
- Apply data analytics and visualization techniques to large power system datasets.
- Document study assumptions, methodologies, and results.
- Prepare clear technical reports and project presentations for stakeholders.
- Manage multiple concurrent tasks and project priorities.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional research teams.
- Participate in limited overnight travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of related engineering experience.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE).
- Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation using tools such as RTDS, PSCAD, or PSS®E.
