Radiologic Technologist
Mobile, AL
Full-Time- MON-FRI-12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Pay: $26–$31/hour
Schedule includes alternating weekends, with a day off during the week when weekends are worked
Overview
We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join a fast-paced hospital setting, providing high-quality imaging services to support patient care. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate results.
Responsibilities
- Follow all compliance requirements and policies, maintaining ethical standards
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, including confidentiality
- Maintain consistent attendance and follow all timekeeping policies
- Use proper body mechanics when positioning, transferring, and assisting patients
- Operate imaging equipment and maintain knowledge of radiology systems, including digital imaging and C-arm equipment
- Perform routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including portable exams
- Assist with invasive procedures and support physicians as needed
- Position patients correctly and ensure accurate image labeling and orientation
- Adjust technical factors appropriately while minimizing radiation exposure
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to safety standards
- Perform patient screening, including reviewing history, allergies, and lab requirements
- Review imaging orders and consult with physicians or radiologists as needed
- Administer IV, oral, and/or rectal contrast under appropriate supervision and protocols
- Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately
- Maintain sterile or aseptic technique when required
- Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Ensure timely upload of images to PACS and complete all required documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure a positive patient experience
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues
- Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure exam rooms are clean and organized
- Follow infection control policies and procedures
- Complete required training and maintain professional knowledge
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Assist with training of students or new staff as needed
- Support team operations and complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
- Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology within 12 months of employment
