Software Engineer - GMD Weapons Systems (GWS)

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nations defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. As a software developer on the GMD Weapon System (GWS), you will work in collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms and may participate in code modernization and translating Ada code to C++. The algorithms and capabilities implemented by the Engagement Planner team are mathematics and physics based complex solutions that will be highly visible to the GWS customer, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). You will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the Engagement Planner team. Who We Are

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of experience.
- Experience developing software in C++ and Java
- Prior experience with ethernet TCP/IP interfaces
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
- Experience with CMake
- Experience with gRPC
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Sec+
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
