Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025, End: 12/8/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• Scrubs: Provided
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,090 - $2,140

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred)
• Active NM or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Proficiency with healthcare charting systems
• Clinical skills in antepartum care, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, EFM (External Fetal Monitoring), triage of obstetrical patients, and sterile vaginal exams
• Ability to float to similar nursing units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit
• Assist with high-risk and routine deliveries, including C-sections
• Monitor patients using EFM and respond to changes in maternal or fetal status
• Administer medications, including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Perform triage and assessments for incoming obstetrical patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic medical records
• Participate in orientation modules and ongoing clinical training onsite
