Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (Day Shift)

Travel: 25-50%, locations in driving distance up to 5 hours

Job Overview: The position reports to the Corporate Quality Manager and is responsible for performing both routine and project activities while also serving as a resource for matters related to product conformity and customer expectations. A Quality Control Technician ensures products or services consistently meet predefined quality standards to meet ISO 9001:2015. Regularly perform quality inspections, follow safety, compliance and quality standards, document and identify nonconformities, troubleshoot quality concerns, participate in quality audits, and guide team members through quality expectations to ensure customer specifications are achieved.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform time and capability studies.
  • Perform metrology using a tape measure, caliper, ring gauge, and thread gauge.
  • Conduct quality walkthroughs at facilities verifying adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and documented procedures.
  • Record and track internal and external nonconformities in the company database, ensuring timely follow-up, investigation, and resolution (NC/CAR).
  • Draft, revise, and maintain alerts, and quality-related forms.
  • Calculate monthly quality metrics (PPM, OTD, COQ) using data reports; initiate corrective actions when targets are not met.
  • Complete all levels of PPAP documentation for in-process and finished goods as required.
  • Perform incoming inspections on raw materials and components purchased to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain traceability records for both raw materials and finished products.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections on hoses and tubes during various stages of production using calipers, CMM arms, and other precision gauges.
  • Assist with customer returns by conducting inspections, root cause analysis, and reporting findings.
  • Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and schematics as needed.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues in production processes.
  • Support the sales team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer standards.
  • Participate in training and lead by example.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing or another related field.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office suite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel (prominent use of pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUP).
  • Ability to type 35+ WPM
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 is a plus.
  • Experience working with PPAP / SPC processes is a plus.
  • Experience with problem solving techniques such as A3, 8D, RCA, DMAIC, PDCA, etc.
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Flow Charts, Control Plans and FMEA creation and revision is a plus.
  • Experience performing time studies/capability studies preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Quality control certifications are a plus.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
