Overview: Sterling Engineering/Staffing is currently looking for a Digital Communications and Collaboration Specialist for one of our clients in the Albertville, AL area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and works primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.
Hourly Rate: $25-45/hr

Job Description:
To enhance internal communication and collaboration by designing and managing branded SharePoint pages, developing digital content and file-sharing standards, and serving as a strategic liaison between IT and Marketing/Communications. This role ensures that digital platforms support organizational goals, reflect brand identity, and foster efficient information sharing across departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
SharePoint Development & Branding
- Design, build, and maintain SharePoint sites that align with internal brand standards
- Ensure consistency in layout, navigation, and user experience across pages
Digital Governance & Standards
- Develop and implement standards for file organization, naming conventions, and sharing protocols
- Create documentation and training resources to support adoption of digital practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between IT and Communications to ensure technical feasibility and brand alignment
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives involving digital tools and internal communications
Internal Communications Support
- Assist in the execution of internal campaigns using SharePoint and other digital platforms
- Provide guidance on best practices for digital content creation and distribution
Platform Optimization & Training
- Monitor usage and performance of collaboration tools to recommend improvements
- Train staff on effective use of SharePoint and related digital tools
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Information Systems, Digital Media, or a related field
- Certifications in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or digital collaboration tools (preferred but not required)
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in digital communications, SharePoint design, or internal communications
- Strong understanding of branding principles and digital content strategy
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially IT and Communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
- Experience with responsive and custom web design is a preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- In addition to SharePoint experience needed, experience with "Shortpoint" is preferred but not required
