Job Duties:
- Speak to patients or guarantors by phone or in person concerning the balances on their accounts.
- Post insurance and balance payments on guarantor accounts.
- Answer incoming call on the billing line and help return calls from the billing voicemail box.
- Help monitor billing email and take necessary actions.
- Be able to review accounts and provide clear explanation of account to patient or guarantor.
- Take necessary action, if needed, to correct insurance and re-bill claims.
- Investigate and correct posting errors.
- Take patient payments by phone and post to account.
- Obtain and correct address on accounts when statements return in the mail.
- Document all actions taken in notes on patient accounts.
- Help work denied claims and file appeals as needed.
- Provide back-up for the Collection Account Representative.
- Communicate appropriately with patients, employees, managers, and providers.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager for cohesive teamwork.
