Job Description

TCS is searching for a Network Engineer to support our Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) customer in Huntsville, AL. The GMD program is a portion of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) system to protect the US and our allies from ballistic missile attack.

Responsibilities:

• Support network infrastructure systems and Red Hat Linux (RHEL)-compute platforms
• Support and maintain high availability networks and server clusters
• Responsible for network infrastructure analysis, optimization, and capacity planning
• Accountable for system administration, identity and authentication, information system security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure maintenance, and automation development
• Technical writing/creation of formal documentation such as architecture diagrams, technical designs, and SOPs

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 years of
  experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with network engineering with cisco router and switch devices
• Must have a DoD 8140 certification (ex: Security + CE)
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance

Desired :

• Experience with Cisco Networks with a focus on Network configuration
• Cisco certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.
• Experience with RHEL, Red Hat Satellite servers and configuration
• Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare vCenter
• Experience with LAN and WAN management
• Palo Alto firewall experience
• Experience with Splunk, Elk, or similar
• Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity
• Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Linux Operating System environments
• Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
• Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
• Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
• Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
