We are seeking a certified Mini Excavator Operator to support an active underground electrical project. The ideal candidate will have strong trenching experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to operate equipment efficiently in active construction environments. This position is responsible for excavation, trenching, and basic equipment maintenance to support utility installation.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Duration: 3 months
Requirements:
- Must be a certified equipment operator
- Must be able to pass a federal background check
- Minimum 3+ years of experience operating excavators or mini excavators
- Must present a REAL ID or a valid Driver’s License on the first day
- Experience trenching for electrical, utility, mechanical, or plumbing projects strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site
- Proof of auto insurance and current vehicle registration
Key Responsibilities:
- Trenching & Excavation: Dig trenches to the required depth, slope, and grade specifications for underground utility installation
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a mini excavator, including working in tight or congested areas
- Site Safety: Follow OSHA regulations, maintain situational awareness, and work with spotters when required
- Utility Awareness: Identify and safely excavate around existing underground utilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspections, check fluid levels, grease equipment, and maintain the cleanliness of the machine
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure project timelines are met
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
