Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Days/Nights

About the Role

As a Med-Surg RN , you will play a vital role in providing and coordinating care for patients across the lifespan. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to broaden their clinical expertise while making a direct impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform admission assessments, obtain patient histories, and develop care plans.
  

• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and update care plans accordingly.
  

• Administer medications and IV therapy per hospital policies.
  

• Document interventions, patient status, and responses with accuracy and timeliness.
  

• Provide education and support to patients and families.
  

• Respond promptly to emergencies and implement appropriate interventions.
  

• Delegate and coordinate nursing care assignments based on patient acuity and staff competencies.
  

• Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
  

• Actively participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  

Qualifications

• Current Alabama RN license (or eligibility for licensure).
  

• Hospital experience preferred , but not required – new graduates encouraged to apply.
  

• BLS certification required.
  

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
