Modular Construction Field Superintendent
Job Description
Job Description
Role Overview
Picture your day starting on a multi-zone project site. By sunrise, you’ve already synced with off-site manufacturing to confirm module readiness, reviewed delivery sequencing, and lined up equipment and crews. The morning begins with a safety huddle and stretch-and-flex, followed by jobsite walks across several active areas. As the primary field leader, you coordinate subcontractors, guide installations, verify quality, and keep the schedule moving while staying aligned with plans, codes, and owner expectations.
Throughout the day, you’re reading and redlining drawings, sequencing crews, tracking milestones, and clearing pathways for modules to set without delay. Inspections are booked and completed on time with local authorities, third-party inspectors, and internal quality teams. You update daily reports, monitor cost impacts, and communicate constraints and solutions to Project Managers and manufacturing leadership. Before the day closes, you pre-plan the upcoming week—labor, materials, equipment, module deliveries, and inspections—so tomorrow’s work starts smoothly and safely.
Core Outcomes You Drive- Lead field operations from mobilization to closeout for modular building installations and related scopes.

- Coordinate inspections with AHJs, third-party inspectors, and internal quality teams for timely approvals.
- Report progress, risks, constraints, and mitigation plans to Project Managers and stakeholders.
- Complete daily reports, labor records, production updates, safety observations, quality notes, and cost considerations.
- Support financial tracking, forecasting, and change management within project management systems.
- Lead weekly look-ahead planning to align labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, inspections, and work activities.
