System Administrator - ACAS System Security Compliance Administrator
As an ACAS System Security Compliance Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting security and compliance efforts within a diverse network environment. You will work alongside a dedicated team to ensure the successful deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Tenable products, including Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) components. You will play a key role in reducing cybersecurity risks and enhancing compliance across classified and unclassified networks. Key Responsibilities
Operate and manage security and compliance baseline configurations for the vulnerability management solution (VMS), focusing on Tenable products like ACAS, SecurityCenterâ„¢, and Nessus®.
Collaborate with fellow security and compliance professionals to maintain ACAS programs across multiple network enclaves.
Assist in configuring and implementing tailored security compliance reports, asset management solutions, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Help with system activities such as deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting Tenable components across local and remote environments.
Assist with the development and maintenance of security policies, custom security plugins, and audit configurations to align with compliance standards.
Perform security audits, provide vulnerability assessments, and implement scan schedules for continuous monitoring.
Ensure systems and networks are updated with the latest patches, following compliance requirements set by DISA and other relevant authorities.
Document configurations, policies, and procedures for system operations, ensuring transparency and security across all platforms.
Lead a small team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure smooth system operations and effective compliance reporting.
Create and maintain dashboards, automated reporting systems, and notifications for various audiences, including leadership, cybersecurity teams, and system administrators. Qualifications
1 to 4 years of experience with ACAS, Tenable.sc (SecurityCenter), or Nessus products.
Hands-on experience with system administration in both Linux-based (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and compliance standards, particularly in a military or government setting.
Experience working with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware vSphere, ESXi).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify and resolve system issues effectively.
Knowledge of patch management, system audits, and security best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Perl, PowerShell, Python, NASL) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow and implement policies and procedures.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of data communications, LAN/WAN technologies, and network security (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
Understanding of network protocols and concepts such as VLAN, trunking, and IP routing.
