Fiber Technician Trainee

Position Overview

BBOSS is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing fiber optic team as a Fiber Technician Trainee. No prior fiber optic experience is required. We are willing to train hardworking, dependable individuals who are eager to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in the telecommunications industry.

This position involves outdoor work, travel, hands-on training, and the opportunity to advance into fiber splicing and testing roles.

What You'll Learn

• Fiber optic installation
• Fiber splicing fundamentals
• Fiber testing procedures
• Telecommunications construction practices
• Safety procedures and jobsite operations
• Utility and right-of-way work
• Equipment and tool operation

Responsibilities

• Assist fiber technicians and splicers in the field
• Help prepare and organize job sites
• Handle and install fiber optic cable
• Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting
• Maintain company tools and equipment
• Follow all safety requirements
• Travel to project locations as needed
• Complete assigned tasks and production goals

Qualifications

• No experience required
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Willingness to travel
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in any of the following is a plus but not required:

• Construction

• Equipment operation
