An automotive parts manufacturer near the Huntsville, AL area is searching for a motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join their facility and support their other regional locations. The ideal candidate will have a background in quality engineering or quality management in the automotive industry, be familiar with relevant quality standards within the automotive/plastics manufacturing industries and be able to suggest strategies to mitigate quality issues based on their findings. Travel will be around 25 - 50% regionally, to be performed in 2 - 3 day intervals, to observe other facilities, document issues, and suggest changes.

This is a full-time and direct-hire role, including robust benefits (health/dental/vision/life insurances, 401k plan with matching after one-year, discretionary company bonus).

Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits and inspections at multiple facilities nationwide to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations
• Perform thorough research and preparations prior to each audit, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of relevant processes and procedures
• Travel to other company locations to compare processes and provide engineering support as needed (~25 - 50% each month, depending on business needs)
• Identify and investigate any deviations or non-conformities, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective measures, including updating manufacturing processes, and prevent recurrence of issues
• Maintain accurate documentation of audit findings, actions taken, and follow-up activities
• Continuously assess and improve quality assurance processes and procedures
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a similar technical field is preferred, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in quality assurance, engineering, management, auditing, or a similar role within the manufacturing, plastic fabrication, or automotive industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Willing to travel approximately 25 - 50% of the time to other company locations
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001)
