EO Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Optical Engineer to support our Directed Energy initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and alignment of high power fiber laser systems. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, including optical alignment, data collection, system troubleshooting, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a lab environment, and has direct experience with laser safety, optical systems, and experimental documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform alignment and operation of high-power fiber laser systems and associated optical components
- Support integration, testing, and validation of fiber amplifiers and beam delivery systems
- Collect, analyze, and report experimental data, including system performance and diagnostic results
- Assist in the development and execution of test procedures and documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including optics, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
- Maintain laser safety compliance and contribute to lab best practices
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system anomalies, providing detailed root cause analysis
- Support configuration control and tracking of optical system setups and test iterations

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with fiber lasers and optical alignment in a laboratory setting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with evolving requirements
- Familiarity with laser safety protocols and use of optical diagnostic equipment (e.g., power meters, beam profilers, spectrometers)
- Experience with data acquisition tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, or Python) is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in documenting test results and observations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment
- U.S. citizenship required; eligibility for a DoD security clearance
Preferred:
- Experience with high power laser systems for defense or commercial applications
