What We Look For In a Elementary School Math Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of number sense, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic fractions and decimals, measurement, time, money, geometry shapes, patterns, and introductory data interpretation. • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with elementary math standards for grades one through five and common challenges such as regrouping in subtraction, understanding fractions as parts of a whole, and memorizing multiplication facts. Adapts instruction using base-ten blocks, fraction strips, games, and multi-sensory approaches to support young learners at varying developmental readiness levels.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
