New York Dental Affiliates (NYDA)is adding a Chairperson - Dental Department to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi . This premier facility accommodates over 325,000 outpatient visits, 100,000 emergency room visits, and 20,000 inpatient admissions annually, serving a diverse community with a wide range of healthcare needs. The Dental Department is a comprehensive treatment facility consisting of 144 employees, which includes Attendings, Residents, Hygienists, Dental Assistants, and Administrative Staff. Jacobi maintains strong academic affiliations with both Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the CUNY School of Medicine , offering a rich environment for teaching and professional growth.

Opportunity Details:

  • Participate in the development of strategic direction for NYC Health + Hospitals and align departmental objectives accordingly.
  • Represent the department in system-wide leadership bodies as designated by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Oversee all educational programs within the department, including dental student rotations, residency training, and continuing education.
  • Deliver direct clinical care as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Exercise sound fiscal management of departmental budgets, staffing, and performance to maximize efficiency and revenue.
  • Oversee OPPE (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation) and FPPE (Focused Professional Practice Evaluation) processes.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on quality assurance, utilization review, and patient experience initiatives.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • A current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of New York.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Board certification in a dental specialty (if applicable), or eligibility, as determined by facility leadership (may be waived by the President of HHC).
  • Proven leadership and management experience, including oversight of personnel, budgets, quality assurance, and resource utilization.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary Range: $350,000* - $410,000* based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $425,000** - $485,000** , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
