The company is at an exciting inflection as we continue to expand our existing brand portfolio and deepen relationships with new and existing customers. The Aluminum Welder | Flex Operator will be responsible for welding and fabrication of components used to assemble products for both Group Ops and Hooksticks departments. The Welder is also responsible for ensuring that components are made to exact specification and in a timely manner.

LOCATION: 4251 Turin Dr, Bessemer, AL 35020

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment starts and the safe operation of multiple pieces of equipment.
• Sourcing materials to be utilized in projects.
• Measuring and cutting materials to specification.
• Welding materials using the correct bonding material to join components together.
• Checking finished work to ensure that it falls within the tolerances marked on fabrication blueprints.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 2 years' prior experience as an aluminum welder in a manufacturing environment is required; additional experience in MIG, steel welding, pipe fitting, and other welding skills/certifications preferred.
• Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, while following standardized work requirements, and adhering to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Must be able to work both independently and as a team to achieve production and departmental goals.
• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and written instructions to fabricate to exact specifications is required.
• Must have physical stamina, ability to stand while performing job duties, and ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed throughout workday.
• Knowledge of Production Procedures and Safety Requirements preferred.
• Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities is preferred.

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed throughout the work shift.
• Position requires ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.
• May encounter occasional stressful situations.
• Work may include responding to critical customer driven situations which may result in working some weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

RSMC offers a competitive pay package that includes an hourly wage and production bonus. $21.00 per hour is paid weekly. The production bonus is also paid weekly and is based on Production, Quality, and On-Time Delivery targets being met.
