• Location: Northport, AL 35476 (Tuscaloosa area) — local travel nursing opportunity / Alabama nursing jobs
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (On-Site)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 14, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) — Night Shift RN / Telemetry RN
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
• Openings: 2 travel nurse positions
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; holidays as required
• Parking: Available on site
• Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
• EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech EMR preferred)
• Float Policy: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Minimum Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Nursys license verification required
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years RN experience (will consider 18 months with at least 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring / telemetry, patient assessment, and Meditech documentation preferred
• Willingness to float to other units/hospitals as needed (flexible travel nurse)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and provide timely interventions for cardiac events
• Manage care for medical patients, including those requiring dialysis and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Care for surgical populations, including orthopedic and general surgery patients
• Support patient recovery with a focus on pain management, mobility, prevention of complications, and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units or hospitals as assigned while maintaining high standards of care and adaptability expected of travel nurses
