Job Title: CMM Operator / Quality Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled CMM Operator with strong Quality Inspection experience to join our growing team in Athens, AL. This role plays a key part in ensuring that our precision‑manufactured components meet the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment and has hands‑on experience with dimensional inspection tools, GD&T, and CMM programming or operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform dimensional inspections on production and prototype parts.
- Load, run, and verify CMM programs using platforms such as PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or similar software.
- Interpret CMM results and generate clear, accurate inspection reports.
- Maintain CMM equipment, ensuring calibration, cleanliness, and proper functionality.
- Perform first‑article, in‑process, and final inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
- Document non‑conformances and collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support root‑cause analysis and corrective action activities when defects or deviations occur.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in reading specifications and part prints.
- Experience with quality control and assurance.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to inspect products for various quality issues.
- Experience with ERP systems and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of ISO and FDA documentation requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CMM or vision machines is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with different departments.

Work Environment
The role will initially involve training on the day shift for 2-3 months before transitioning to the second shift. Day shift hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Second shift hours are 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with a pay differential for working this shift. Additionally, weekend shifts are available, with day hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and night hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., both offering 40 hours of pay.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
