Dedicated Personnel is currently seeking applicants for 1st and 2nd shift CNC Machinist in the Birmingham Area and Fairfield areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Operates and sets-up a variety of machine tool equipment including power mill, lathe, numerically controlled machine tools and other hand and power equipment of similar complexity
• Secures and fixtures raw stock of material into machine, squares material prior to running program if necessary, and monitors the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance
• Ensures machine and area around machine is kept as clean as practical
• Perform machine changeovers and change tool inserts as needed
• Loads programs into CNC machine and executes program cutting of the material
• Deburs completed machine parts as time allows
• Operates CNC machine in a safe manner
• Perform Quality Control Characteristics documentation of tolerance zones specified on blueprints
• Notifies supervisor or lead of major malfunctions or when machine maintenance is needed
• Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools

CNC Machine Operator Qualifications

• Machine operation and gauging
• Production requirements and process documentation
• Basic math/read tape measure
• Proper use and care of precision measurement tools
• Desired experience for CNC machine operator includes:
• Responsible for reporting the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware
• Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine
• Expected to follow safe working practices, obey rules and regulations, and work in a way that maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the company
• Monitor and maintain CNC equipment, manual and automatic gauging systems, robots, gantrys and material handling systems operations
• Perform adjustments to machines and tooling to keep parts within allowable tolerances
• Operation of robots and gantrys as necessary
• Must be able to run a minimum of 3 Axis mills or more
• Must have 5 years experience in machine tool & tie or machine tech.
