Location: Huntsville, AL
Compensation Range: $150,000 – $225,000 (annualized USD)
Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Description:

Join a mission-driven engineering team as a Senior Systems Engineer , where you will provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and virtualized infrastructure systems. In this senior role, you will architect, evaluate, and optimize complex infrastructure solutions while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and compliance with enterprise requirements.

You will guide system installations, perform system-level design, and evaluate emerging technologies for integration into existing environments. As a senior technical expert, you will influence engineering strategies, collaborate with customers and vendors, and develop solutions that span multiple disciplines and infrastructure layers.

Responsibilities:

• Determine user requirements and design specifications for infrastructure systems.

• Create plans to ensure necessary maintenance is performed by junior staff to support system health and availability.

• Plan, schedule, and conduct installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications.

• Design and conduct tests and evaluations of infrastructure systems; analyze and organize combined hardware/software solutions using modeling and planning techniques.

• Perform system-level design and configuration, including determining hardware, operating system, and platform specifications.

• Evaluate new servers, storage systems, and security appliances; recommend integration strategies for inclusion in existing enterprise infrastructure.

• Plan new server and storage configurations and ensure seamless integration into current environments to maintain optimal performance.

• Develop solutions that incorporate concepts across multiple engineering disciplines and heterogeneous system environments.

• Influence team members, customers, and vendors in defining and delivering server, storage, and application infrastructure requirements.

• Prepare advanced schematics and work prints to illustrate infrastructure deployments and solutions.

• Identify and recommend new design tools for use in modern infrastructure engineering projects.

• Evaluate projected CPU, storage, memory, and network usage to guide procurement planning and ensure service continuity.

• Participate in and influence infrastructure-related proposals through costing models, technical reports, and expert recommendations.

• Plan, design, and implement network management systems to monitor, diagnose, and measure infrastructure performance.

• Identify, analyze, and recommend new administrative systems for accurate asset inventory and timely implementation.

• Design and implement migrations to public, private, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Recommend and implement serverless application offerings from leading cloud providers.

Skills Requirements:

• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining virtualized environments, including but not limited to VMware technologies.

• Ability to design, deploy, and maintain VMware vCloud environments.

• Experience deploying Windows Server, SQL databases, and Linux hosts in virtualized environments.

• Understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN), such as VMware Distributed Switching and Brocade Virtual Routers.

• Experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Knowledge of serverless application offerings from major cloud providers.

Education & Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, or Network Administration from an accredited university/college with eight (8) years of experience.

OR a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with five (5) years of experience.

Compensation & Employment Policy:

Salary at Intezra is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $225,000 (annualized USD).
