Travel Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820 - $1870
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 26, 2025
• End Date: November 25, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:00)
• Shifts per Week: 4
• Hours per Week: 36
• Healthcare Setting: Level II Trauma Center, 38-bed mixed ICU (SICU/MICU/CVICU)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float to stepdown or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

SICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent SICU, ICU, or critical care nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC and CSC preferred)
• Experience with Level II Trauma Center patients
• Community hospital or acute care experience
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Completion of up to 8 hours of onboarding modules prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply

SICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Monitor and manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and advanced cardiac drips
• Administer blood products and manage patients with multi-system organ failure, CRRT, and post-cardiac surgery recovery
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to stepdown units as needed while maintaining safe patient ratios
• Document all patient care and interventions accurately in Epic EMR
• Assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertions, EGDs, and bronchoscopies
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
