Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist operates and maintains computer-controlled machines to produce parts to exact specifications. This role requires interpreting technical drawings, performing quality checks, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of CNC equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines including mills, lathes, and routers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Select and install proper tooling, fixtures, and materials.
- Monitor machining processes for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet production schedules.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling or CNC certification preferred.
- Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CNC programming and G-code.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Forklift or material handling experience a plus.
