Growing family practice is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant with family practice or internist experience, to be responsible for assisting and directing day to day delivery of health care and patient care management. This position will report directly to the Physician and their nursing supervisor. Weekly hours vary from 32-36 generally.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

· Must be kind, compassionate, respectful, have attention to detail, be a good listener, follows directions, and willing to be an essential part of the team.

· Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to their exam room. Will take the patient’s history, determine their chief complaint, reconcile their current medications, and take vital signs.

· Responsible for documenting all the information & history conveyed by the patient prior to the physician examination in the EMR and relaying necessary information to the physician.

· Assist with Annual Wellness and Physical Exams when necessary.

· Perform labs specimen collection as requested, (strep, microalbumin, urine tests, blood sugar, throat, nasal, etc.), and prepares for pick-up if necessary.

· Import labs, perform EKG’s, spirometry’s, ear washing’s, etc.

· Give injections, assist with examinations and office procedures as needed; and provides other patient care services as directed by the Physician.

· Prepares, cleans, stocks and maintains exam and treatment rooms, sterilizes all necessary instruments daily and as needed

· Monitor/replace Sharps containers, medical waste as needed.

· Contact patient with results as directed by the Physician or RN.

· Assist with referrals and medication refills.

· Responsible for abiding by the Standards of Conduct and meets all compliance training requirements.

· Participates in professional development activities.

· Maintains strict confidentiality as required by HIPAA.

· Performs other related work as required.

· Follows all practice protocols including, but not limited to: arriving at work on time; Able to stay until last patient leaves and duties are completed; Must be a proficient typist.

We are a growing family practice with two doctors and two nurse practitioners. We treat patients ages 0-100, but we mainly focus on adults. We specialize in all aliments as well as routine care. Both doctors also treat minor sport's injuries.
