Legal Assistant / Paralegal
General Litigation, Real Estate Litigation & Family Law
Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC – Birmingham / Trussville Area
Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support our general litigation, real estate litigation, and family law practice.
This is a client-facing legal role focused on various aspects of litigation, including personal injury, real estate, and domestic relations matters. The position involves managing case files, handling discovery, drafting pleadings, and preparing legal correspondence.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a varied litigation caseload (pre-suit through post-judgment)
- Prepare and file pleadings, liens, garnishments, judgments, and other court documents
- Communicate with clients, courts, judges, and third parties
- Assist with litigation and family law matters, including:
- Drafting pleadings, complaints, discovery, and correspondence
- Calendaring deadlines, hearings, and court dates
- Maintaining organized digital and physical case files
- Coordinate closely with attorneys to ensure cases progress efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of paralegal experience (Family Law and/or Litigation preferred)
- Knowledge of Alabama and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and deadline-management skills
- Experience with Clio case management system is a plus
