About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team at Parker & Townes, P.C. in Gardendale, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable accounting firm and contribute to our continued success.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly bookkeeping and accounting for small business clients
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with tax preparation and filings for individuals, businesses, and non-profits
- Process payroll, payroll taxes, and sales taxes
- Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement.
- Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
