Warehouse Worker

Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment. Reports to Operations Manager, Shift Supervisor and/or Team Leader.

Essential Functions:

· Understands and follows all company safety policies and procedures.

• Performs and documents pre-shift inspection of equipment as required.
• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations
• Marks and Tags material for proper identification
• Pulls and assembles orders in order of delivery
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers
• Operates overhead cranes, both pendant and remote to put up stock or load/unload trailers
• Operates forklift to load/unload trailers
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Job Requirements:

• Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions, tickets, safety and policies manuals)
• Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in warehouse
• Experience in overhead crane operation preferred
• Knowledge of standard to metric system conversion required

Physical Requirements:

In a typical workday, employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, shoving, lifting, driving (yard truck or forklift), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking. Must be capable of lifting wt. up to forty (50) lbs. with or without lifting devices.

Working Conditions:

Employee will work in an open warehouse the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: Extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and steel toed boots with metatarsal. The Company furnishes initial hard hat, gloves and safety glasses.
