We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing client's team in Alabaster, Alabama. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial processes while supporting general ledger accounting and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Manage general ledger accounts, including preparation and maintenance of journal entries.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
• Analyze financial statements and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Assist in improving accounting workflows and maintaining compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor financial controls and recommend enhancements to strengthen accounting practices.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools for efficient data management.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
