Your Role

Reverse Engineer - Embedded Systems

Security Requirements:

This position requires a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a SECRET or higher security clearance (active clearance preferred).

Job Description:

This position is for work on an existing, awarded contract and is contingent upon additional funding (which is expected very soon).
In this role, you will perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Support reverse engineering of systems by analyzing electrical and embedded components, including power, distribution, guidance systems, microcontrollers, buses, and debug interfaces
• Design custom PCBs to facilitate hardware testing
• Contribute to software analysis by identifying algorithms, data structures, and I/O signals
• Compare technologies to U.S. equivalents in capability, usage timeframe, and workmanship
• Perform test planning, test execution, and data analysis
• Compose, edit, and refine subsystem documentation and reports on activities of the team

• Willing to learn (and adopt/employ) the various disciplines that encompass reverse engineering and the approaches developed by the team

• Manage time and expectations in a reasonable manner
• Document work thoroughly and effectively
• Assist with everyday laboratory activities

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (ABET Accredited) degree in a science, math or engineering discipline plus 3 years of experience (Master of Science degree preferred)
• Programming Languages: C/C++ (required), 8086 Assembly (strongly desired), Qt/Visual Studio (strongly desired)
• Communication / Debug Interfaces: JTAG, I2C, UART, SPI
• Operating System (OS): Windows / Linux / Embedded OS
• Embedded Development: PIC, ARM
• Hardware Design : Altium (or other printed circuit board (PCB) design software)
• Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs): Xilinx, Altera, Lattice
• Documentation: LaTeX (strongly desired), Markdown, MediaWiki
