We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Ashland, Alabama. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering the opportunity to contribute to key financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing core accounting tasks and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
• Manage sales tax filings and compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset records, ensuring proper classification and depreciation.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Support compliance efforts by adhering to accounting standards and practices.
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial reporting and decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all accounting activities.
• Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger management.• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with sales tax filings and fixed asset accounting.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and support audit processes.
• Proficient in accounting software and tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
