Senior Commercial Relationship Manager
Location: Birmingham, AL
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 + Bonus + Benefits
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Commercial Relationship Manager to join a growing banking team in the Birmingham, Alabama market. This role is ideal for a motivated banking professional with an established book of business and strong experience in commercial lending, business development, and relationship management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships, growing loan and deposit portfolios, and identifying opportunities to expand business within the community while maintaining sound credit quality and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and community involvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and business partners
- Identify client financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services
- Meet or exceed commercial loan growth, deposit growth, and profitability goals
- Conduct client meetings, business development calls, and site visits with prospective and existing customers
- Analyze financial information and assist with credit structuring and underwriting processes
- Partner with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and efficient loan processing
- Maintain compliance with all bank policies, lending regulations, and risk management standards
- Represent the bank at community events, networking functions, and business organizations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of banking experience in commercial, consumer, mortgage, or SBA lending/business development
- Proven success in business development and portfolio growth within a banking environment
- Existing book of business and strong local market connections preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking products and services
- Credit analysis and underwriting experience preferred
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher
- Series 7 and 63 licenses are a plus
