Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Preventative Maintenance

Pay: $17+, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

On-Call: Required for emergency maintenance before and after regular work hours

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community team. The primary focus of this position is preventative maintenance to ensure all building systems, equipment, and units are operating safely and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining a high standard of living for residents through proactive care and prompt attention to maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.

Conduct routine inspections of apartments, common areas, and building systems.

Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.

Diagnose and repair issues related to:

Plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixtures)

Electrical (lighting, outlets, appliances)

HVAC (filters, thermostats, unit upkeep)

Carpentry, painting, and general maintenance

Ensure all maintenance tasks meet safety and compliance standards .

Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.

Provide emergency maintenance support after hours and on weekends as scheduled.

Assist with move-in/move-out inspections and unit turn preparations.

Communicate effectively with property management and residents regarding maintenance needs and updates.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred).

2+ years of experience in property, facility, or building maintenance.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair .

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks.

On-call availability for emergency maintenance required.
