Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support a 1st grade student in an elementary school setting. This contract position runs for the duration of the school year, working Monday through Friday for approximately 6 to 7 hours each day. The role is based in Centreville, AL.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing clear and effective sign language interpretation for a 1st grade student to facilitate munication and learning
• Collaborating with teachers, staff, and the students family to ensure an inclusive classroom experience
• Assisting with munication needs during instructional time, school activities, and other interactions throughout the school day
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting in educational settings
• Familiarity with elementary-level munication needs, especially for young learners
• Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with educators, students, and families
• Ability to mit full-time throughout the school year
