Make an impact by providing vital occupational therapy services within a supportive educational setting near Bessemer, AL. This contract position is ideal for a skilled OT passionate about fostering students’ growth and independence throughout the school year. While full details on caseload and schedule are to follow, this role will involve working alongside educators and families to support student success inside and outside the classroom.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Alabama (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• Previous experience serving school-aged children, ideally within a public or private school environment
• Knowledge of IEP process and documentation requirements
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, support staff, and parents
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing student needs
• Proficiency in developing and implementing therapeutic interventions focusing on fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to determine functional abilities and needs in the school setting
• Develop and deliver individualized treatment plans to achieve student goals
• Document and track progress in accordance with school and federal guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Provide consultative support to teachers and staff to promote student participation and inclusion
• Adjust services as required through close collaboration with the educational team
