About the Opportunity

An established Internal Medicine Residency Program in Dothan, Alabama is seeking an Academic Hospitalist to join its faculty team. This position combines inpatient clinical practice with teaching and mentoring responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity for physicians interested in academic medicine.

The incoming physician will play a key role in supervising residents, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting scholarly activities, all while practicing hospital medicine in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospitalist care for patients of all ages

• Supervise, teach, and mentor Internal Medicine residents during their inpatient rotations

• Participate in curriculum planning, resident didactics, and academic conferences

• Collaborate with program leadership to ensure compliance with ACGME standards

• Contribute to patient safety, quality improvement, and research initiatives

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems

Qualifications

• Completion of an Internal Medicine Residency

• Eligible for Alabama medical licensure
