Licensed Therapist (LMFT or LPC)
Location: Homewood, AL (Birmingham area)Schedule: 10–25 client hours per week (flexible)
Employment Type: W-2 employee
Compensation: $50–$80/hour depending on licensure, training, and experience. Total compensation potential: $71,000–$105,000 annually (based on 25 client hours/week + 49 weeks/year). About the Role You became a therapist to help people feel seen and connected, even in the hardest moments.

- Master’s degree (Marriage & Family Therapy preferred)
- Active, unrestricted license in Alabama (LMFT, LPC, ALC, MFTA, PhD, PsyD, JD)
- Available for at least 10 client sessions per week, with openness to 20–25, depending on referrals
- Professional liability insurance ($1M/$3M, initially; then covered by Sparrow)
- Experience in private practice.
- Niche focus (children, teens, couples, divorce, blended families, EMDR, trauma, anxiety, grief, etc.)
- Certified Play Therapist or EMDR trained
Flexible schedule, primarily Monday–Friday with some evening availability, with sessions offered in-person at our Downtown Homewood office or online in a secure, confidential setting.
While a caseload is not guaranteed, therapists are expected to be available for at least 10 sessions per week and open to building up to 20–25, as referrals are provided and scheduled by Sparrow Counseling. Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling services in line with Sparrow Counseling standards and ethics
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation (intakes, progress notes, treatment plans, etc.)
- Collaborate with families, treatment teams, and outside professionals as needed
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and supervision (as applicable)
- Contribute to a respectful, professional, and collaborative workplace
- W2 employment
- $25/hour for admin work (up to 8 hours/month, based on caseload; not included in clinical pay)
- Free supervision for MFTAs (AAMFT-approved supervisor candidate on staff)
