A day in the lifeYou’ll roll out in a well-stocked vehicle, review the plan with your helper, greet the homeowner, and lead a precise, code-compliant install. From setting equipment to final walkthroughs, you set the tone for safety, craftsmanship, and five-star service.
What you’ll lead and do- Install, upgrade, and replace residential HVAC systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Cut, thread, and connect copper or PVC piping; perform both high- and low-voltage wiring.
- Train and mentor Install Helpers on-site and in the shop, building their skills and confidence.
- Deliver clear, respectful communication and exceptional customer service to homeowners.
- Handle physical tasks including lifting, bending, and safely moving items over 50 pounds.
- Keep tools, parts, and your vehicle organized, clean, and ready for the next call.
- Work safely at heights and in tight areas (such as attics), through extreme heat or cold.
- Follow appliance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and internal service standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1+ years of HVAC Lead Install experience in residential settings with proven hands-on ability.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- EPA certification in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Advanced troubleshooting and strong critical-thinking capabilities.
- Proactive, enthusiastic mindset with pride in high-quality workmanship.
- Customer-first approach and the ability to resolve concerns professionally.
- Comfort engaging professionally with team members and leaders at all levels.
- Flexible, innovative, and collaborative in dynamic field conditions.
- Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Climbing ladders; accessing attics; navigating tight spaces; entering crawlspaces; pushing, carrying, and pulling; using hand tools; and performing fine detail work.
- Ability to drive.
- Working indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone.
- Use of hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reaching with hands and arms.
- Regular stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
- Regular exposure to extreme temperatures (heat or cold) and adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, or snow).
