What we’re seeking:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven experience working with children who have a variety of learning and developmental needs
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies for different student abilities
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
In this role, you will:
- Create and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Develop and monitor IEPs in collaboration with other educators and families
- Assess student growth, providing regular feedback and adjusting strategies as needed
- Foster a positive learning space that encourages participation and celebrates achievement
- Partner with general education staff to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate records and attend required meetings and professional development sessions
