Mechanical Designer
- Create, modify, and maintain detailed SolidWorks part, drawing, and assembly files to support project requirements and production needs,
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to model and develop vehicle components, prototypes, and production support equipment,
- Develop manufacturing and inspection (QC) prints for both new and existing parts, ensuring clarity and accuracy for production teams,
- Maintain and organize file and folder structures, managing updates, revisions, and model year changes to ensure efficient document control,
- Track and manage revisions for supplier and vendor parts, ensuring accurate records and seamless communication with external partners,
- Input and maintain part, assembly, and drawing data for the vehicle Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure alignment with production requirements,
- Reverse engineer supplier parts to generate CAD data when required, ensuring compatibility with existing designs and production processes,
- Support research and development (R&D) initiatives by assisting with vehicle assembly and testing as needed,
- Identify opportunities to improve design processes and implement best practices to enhance overall efficiency and quality,
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute insights to support the development of innovative and manufacturable designs,
- Contribute to the success of the design and engineering team by fostering a collaborative, cooperative, and supportive team environment,
- Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining flexibility and adaptability to support team and organizational goals.
- Flexible: Typically, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- SolidWorks Design Experience,
- General understanding of drafting standards,
- Comfortable with Solidworks Weldments and Sheet Metal functions,
- Familiar with sheet metal manufacturing “best practices”,
- MS Office or G Suite familiarity,
- Aptitude for learning new things quickly, High level of attention to detail, and good problem solver,
- Strong data entry practices, communication skills, and active listener skills,
- Exhibit patience while being a Juggler of many tasks simultaneously well.
- 2+ years of SolidWorks Modeling including sheet metal and weldments,
- 2+ years of SolidWorks Drafting experience,
- Familiarity with MS Office and G Suite,
- Prior experience working in or around manufacturing,
- Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, high-stress position that requires high levels of attention to detail,
- Associates degree in Drafting or a Drafting Certificate preferred,
- SolidWorks Certifications preferred (CSWE, CSWP, CSWA).

- Sitting: The majority of the workday will be spent sitting at a desk, using a computer, and performing tasks that require sustained attention and focus.
- Light Lifting: Occasionally, employees may need to lift and carry boxes or office supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Reaching and Stretching: There may be instances where reaching or stretching is required to access files, office equipment, or supplies.
- Visual and Mental Concentration: The position may require employees to read documents, analyze data, and perform tasks that demand a high level of visual and mental concentration.
- Repetitive Tasks: Some tasks may involve repetitive motions, such as filing, scanning, or using office equipment, which may require attention to ergonomics and comfort.
- Ability to Sit and Stand for Meetings: Meetings or discussions may require employees to sit or stand for varying periods.
