Job Summary:
Plans, implements and oversees the configuration, maintenance and performance of critical database and file server systems to ensure the availability, security and consistent performance of the hospital applications.

Location: Russell Medical in Alexander City, AL (onsite)

Hours:
Monday-Friday + call
8am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: B.S. Degree OR Associates Degree from a technical school OR equivalent years of work experience in one of the following or a related field: Computer Science, Information Technology or Mathematics

EXPERIENCE: Proven experience in database administration, information technology, data architecture or a related role. Three to five years hands on experience with database technologies. Experience in a hospital environment is a plus. Knowledge of current hospital information system software and hardware is a plus. Experience with cloud services is a plus. Experience with Business Intelligence reporting and visualization tools is a plus

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Configure and manage SQL Server databases, database servers and processes. Consult with business users, hardware and software vendors, and/or IT application and systems administration teams to evaluate business requirements and recommend, design and implement database solutions, including the automation of routine processes. Create automation for repeating database tasks. Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security. Develop plans and timelines to support business and infrastructure project work. Implement hardware and/or software upgrades necessary to optimize the security and efficiency of database systems. Analyze, diagnose and resolve database issues in real time. Design and develop reports, visualizations and dashboards using business intelligence tools, SQL and other reporting tools within the EHR system software. Be available and provide 24×7 supports for critical production systems as needed. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Command of SQL and SQL server tools. Scripting knowledge and experience. Business Intelligence knowledge and experience. Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling. Knowledge of best practices around management, control and monitoring of database infrastructure. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines. Sharp troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong documentation skills. Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to design and develop reports and to analyze and debug issues and problems using EHR reporting modules and tools.
