Project Engineer – Chemical Operations

Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional engineering projects from conception through startup, with emphasis on large-scale continuous chemical processes.
  

• Provide economic analysis and project advocacy support to commercial teams to inform strategic decisions.
  

• Act as a liaison between project stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and EH&S teams, to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
  

• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and contractor scopes to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  

• Apply “Lessons Learned” from prior projects to current designs and promote continuous improvement practices.
  

• Represent project engineering in budget reviews, progress updates, and management decision-making meetings.
  

• Oversee daily project execution, ensuring adherence to established project management methodologies and quality standards.
  

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks by maintaining and monitoring comprehensive project risk registers.
  

• Maintain organized, up-to-date project documentation in accordance with company standards.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of project management experience and 15 years of operational experience within a chemical manufacturing facility.
  

• Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) , PMP (Project Management Professional) , or PMI certifications are highly desirable.
  

• Familiarity with AACE International cost estimating practices is a strong plus.
  

• Working knowledge of industry codes and regulations relevant to natural gas and chemical facilities, including ASME, NEC , and other applicable standards.
  

• Proficiency in project scheduling software and industry-standard tools, including MS Office , SAP , AutoCAD , SolidWorks , and related engineering platforms.
  

• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale capital projects , with proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship .
