Salary: $18.50 per hour and up

JOB OVERVIEW

• Responsible for the Shipping and Receiving team.
• This is a full-time position. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, including some Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekly work schedules are shared in advance.
• This position is paid hourly.
• No travel is expected for this position.
  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead the daily operations of shipping & receiving, ensuring timely and accurate handling of lumber and related materials.
2. Oversee the handling of all inbound and outbound paperwork.
3. Lead daily pre-shift meetings and report topics to the Operations Manager.
4. Perform daily and weekly counts of inventory as needed.
5. Assure the yard team works in a Safe-Right-Fast manner.
6. Operate forklifts and related equipment as needed.
7. Assure adherence to the appointment schedule.
8. Keep the freight screen and appointment schedule updated with real-time information.
9. Address any inventory discrepancies.
10. Communicate any needs or issues directly to the Operations Manager.
11. Be on time and in compliance with the Company Handbook.
12. Any other tasks assigned by VP of Operations or Operations Manager.
    

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have a valid drivers license.
2. Forklift experience with UTD certification or the ability to demonstrate safe handling of a forklift in an onsite test.
   

COMPETENCIES:

1. Leadership experience in warehouse/manufacturing preferred.
2. Commitment to UTDs Mission, Vision, Values, and Brand Commitment.
3. Ability to multitask safely in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to details.
4. Strong communication skills and a team player.
5. Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE, and SOPs.
6. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access.
7. Experience with management of schedules and multi-tasking.
8. Time management.
9. UTD product knowledge.
10. Knowledge of OHSA, state, and federal rules and regulations with ability to comply with them during daily functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. May require prolonged standing, sitting, driving, and forklift vibration.
2. Must be able to properly handle wood which may require climbing, balance, stooping, crouching, walking, and lifting.
3. Must be able to handle various tools and equipment and be physically capable of operating equipment to industry standards.
4. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions; heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity; fumes and airborne particles.
5. Must be able to lift/carry 40 pounds or more.
