Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has an exciting career opportunity for a **Principal Systems Engineer - BMD SME** who will facilitate the modeling, simulation, and analyses of future concepts that shape the future of the Missile Defense System (MDS) and respond to Warfighter needs. This Engineer will perform a key role on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. **Responsibilities** + Facilitate the definition of future concepts for modeling, simulation, and analysis + Act as a subject matter expert in future concept definition, architecture analyses, and reviewing preliminary results before delivery to customer + Assess MDS threats, capability gaps, challenges, needs and opportunities, and develop potential system mitigations and capability revolutions and evolutions at the architecture level + Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above, including analysis efforts on DoD High Performance Computing (HPC) + Develop analysis plans, run M&S to execute the analysis plan, perform analysis on the results, prepare analysis reports, and provide reviews of analysis products + Perform other duties as assigned **Qualifications** + Master's Degree in STEM Field with 12+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project + Extensive experience in the modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures + Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Knowledge of the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures + Knowledge with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts + Ability to develop and use MDS architecture simulations; knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python is a plus, including HPC experience and/or MBSE experience + Knowledge supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities + Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies + Knowledge of multidisciplinary analysis and optimization environments, including analysis of diverse physical phenomena + Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures + Proven ability to coauthor numerous reports and provide significant contributions to MDS studies and responses to Congress + Knowledge with Cyber gaps, mitigations, and future Cyber Architecture development + Knowledge serving as a key advisor and collaborating on products that may go outside the Agency, such as DoD, Services, Combatant Commands, industry experts, etc. + Deep understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts + Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems. + In-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge. + Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission. + Familiarity with DOD and MDA processes and procedures. + Ability to work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership. + Proficient with Microsoft software applications. + Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision. + Ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations. + Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. **How you'll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
