Structural Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Structural Engineer to support the UH PO Tech Management Division. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Will serve as the principal liaison between UH PO Tech Management Division and the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) for all matters that involve Structures and Materials airworthiness issues.
• Engineer responsible for structural analysis and life limit impacts for all H-60 Variants.
• Work with Structures and Systems Engineering to finalize H-60M retirement lives as analyzed in SER703333.
• Work with SRD Structures and Systems Engineering to determine H-60L/V retirement life impacts associated with the installation of various modifications.
• Work with ACLC Log division and SRD to evaluate Sikorsky overhaul and repair instructions for developing DMWRs for 60M airframe and dynamic components.
• Responsible for briefing management on the status and progress of Structural Projects/Issues, prioritizing and risk mitigation plans as required.
• Provide technical recommendations on proposals. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of engineering aspects in solving development and sustainment problems.
• Acquire and apply knowledge of Black Hawk helicopters and their structures, systems, subsystems, and components
• Acquire and apply Knowledge of project management, contract actions such as Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), Software Development and Integrated Master Schedules, Technical Program Management expertise, root cause analysis, risk management, and airframe Structural Engineering
• Perform the duties of project lead if assigned for efforts specifically related to structural modifications to the Black Hawk Helicopter.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• 15+ years of experience and a BS degree.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, both Government and Contractor.
• Experience with aircraft structure and hardware integration.
• H-60M experience with design and qualification through to ECP and production cut-in.
• System Engineering processes.
• Army airworthiness qualification requirements.
• Experience with contract documents, such as Statements of Work (SOW), and Contracts Data Requirements Lists (CDRL).
• Will know how to measure the value of work completed compared to the actual cost spent.
• Document Summary Lists (DSLs), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and Integrated Master Schedules.
• Demonstrated effective project management leadership of multi-disciplined Integrated Product Teams.
• Must have exceptional organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to manage a large volume of data.
• Ability to contribute to projects and work effectively with others.
• Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering.
