About the Role:

The HR Associate plays a critical role in supporting the human resources department by managing day-to-day HR operations and ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes. This position is responsible for assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and maintaining accurate HR records. The HR Associate acts as a liaison between employees and management, helping to foster a positive work environment and address employee inquiries promptly and professionally. By supporting compliance with labor laws and company policies, the HR Associate helps mitigate risks and promotes organizational integrity. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the HR function, enabling the company to attract, retain, and develop talent successfully.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a human resources or administrative support role.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HR information systems such as Workday, ADP, or BambooHR.
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding in a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth integration into the company.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support HR initiatives such as performance management, training programs, and employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist with audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support organizational goals and workforce planning.

Skills:

The HR Associate utilizes strong communication skills daily to interact effectively with employees, management, and external candidates, ensuring clear and professional exchanges. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks such as maintaining employee records, coordinating interviews, and supporting HR projects simultaneously. Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office tools enables efficient data management, reporting, and documentation. Knowledge of employment laws and HR policies guides the HR Associate in ensuring compliance and advising employees appropriately. Additionally, problem-solving and interpersonal skills help the HR Associate address employee concerns and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
