Industrial Forklift Service Technician
About the Role
Based in Mobile, AL, 36608, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping our forklift fleet running at peak performance. Your work directly impacts safety, uptime, and the productivity of every operator who depends on reliable equipment.
A Day in the Life
You start your day reviewing service tickets and prioritizing preventive maintenance across a mix of forklift models. As you move from bay to bay, you’ll diagnose mechanical quirks, electrical faults, and hydraulic issues—isolating root causes and implementing practical fixes. You’ll perform thorough safety inspections to ensure every lift meets industry standards before it goes back into service. Throughout the day you’ll document your work, coordinate with teammates to streamline workflows, and source the right parts to keep jobs moving. When operators need help, you’ll be there with clear guidance and exceptional support.
Core Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs on a variety of forklifts.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and determine reliable solutions.
- Conduct and document safety inspections to maintain compliance with standards.
- Keep precise service records for maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with peers to elevate shop efficiency and turnaround time.
- Order, track, and manage parts inventory to prevent delays.
- Deliver top-tier customer service and technical support to operators.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanics is a plus.
- Hands-on experience servicing forklifts or related material-handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, and hydraulics.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.
- Clear communicator and effective team player.
- Valid driver’s license and current forklift certification.
- Flexibility to adjust hours when operational needs arise.
