Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Option for 4x12 schedule available
• Float to like units as needed
• Possible charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for adults and geriatrics population
• 30-bed medical surgical unit
• 30-minute lunch required - no skipped meals policy
• Must adhere to facility call-in policy
• Alabama nursing license required
• Current BLS via AHA certification required
• Fit test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Skills include: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drain care, oxygen administration, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management
• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed
• Local candidates within 60-mile radius considered

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit that provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains strict policies regarding meal breaks and attendance to ensure quality patient care and operates with modern equipment and evidence-based protocols.
