Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Program)
Program Dates: June 1 – July 19, 2026
Village of Promise is seeking a positive, energetic Auxiliary (Assistant Teacher) to support the Toddler Classroom during our Summer Day Care Program. This role supports children ages 19 months – 2 years through early mobility, exploration, and communication development.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with diapering, toileting-readiness, and hygiene routines
- Support toddlers during transitions, meals, and naps
- Engage children in active play, early learning activities, and outdoor exploration
- Help promote language development through conversation and reading
- Maintain a safe classroom with close supervision and responsive care
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Must pass DHR suitability background check
- Must complete Health & Safety Training before start date
- Enjoys working with energetic and curious toddlers
- Eligibility to pass a background check and drug test
- Physically capable of lifting children up to 30 pounds and in physical condition to appropriately care for the students.
- Eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify)
Program Requirements:
- Paperwork due by May 21, 2026
- Orientation and training to be completed before June 1
Please note: The program will observe two holidays occurring within the Summer Day Care timeframe. Staff will receive these days off, unpaid.
